counseling to break bad habits

Bad habits are so hard to break. I was a smoker for about 30 years and couldn't seem to break the habit no matter what I tried. Every now and then, I was able to quite for a few weeks, but then, when I started smoking again, I smoked far more than I did before I quit. It wasn't until I accepted the fact that my smoking was a real problem and reached out for professional help with quitting. I started going to counseling and learned a lot about my bad habits and why it was so hard for me to give them up. This blog is all about counseling to break bad habits.

The Health Benefits Of A Good Marriage

Blog

Love and support goes a long way to keep a marriage strong, but did you know that a healthy marriage means better physical and mental health for both you and your spouse? It's true! If you ever doubted the benefits of a healthy marriage, read on to see just how you can benefit from one.

Physical Health

A research study noted married couples, especially men, generally live a healthier lifestyle and live longer than singles. Research discovered they are less likely to die of a stroke, heart disease, dementia, or other types of diseases. Many other issues have been improved as shown in several studies; stating a good marriage can be directly affected through other ailments, including depression, the immune system, and other emotional disorders created from anxiety. Other studies have shown married couples are more resistant to infections and have fewer infections. People live longer in a satisfying marriage. You are less likely to suffer from injuries due to accidents if you have a dedicated spouse.

Social Behavior

One study found married couples were less involved in substance abuse or other risky behaviors than single persons. A healthy marriage constitutes a closer source of support, so there isn't a need to adventure into outside social circles in search of a confidant. You can still be unhappy and alone in a marriage, but you are less likely to be socially isolated in a marriage.

A spouse is a great mediator of your behavior while monitoring your intake of food and unhealthy beverages. Healthier habits are formed with these reminders. Eating right can also lower stress as well as the mental issues that stress causes. Diet and exercise are much easier when a special partner is there for moral support and to cheer you on.

Mental Health

It has been proven that a good marriage can lower stress levels and improve people's spirit towards life's challenges. When designing healthcare treatment plans, some health professionals blend personal relationships into the equation. A firm understanding of the physical or mental status of the spouse provides a better platform for treatment. Teamwork plays a major part in the healing process.

Love and commitment is the key to a healthy marriage. This is a powerful yet vulnerable process enabling the path for a healthier future for the couple. They are committed with vows to defend and protect each other. Marriage produced this close, healthy, and loving tie; and can continue for the couple's eternity.
